The 3 level mold allows a molder to increase a further
50% in productivity using the same injection machine
normally running a two level mold, yet not able to fit a
4 level mold due to limited shut height limitations
encountered on deep draw parts (see 4 Level Stack
Molds).
3 Level molds can be developed from a pre-engineered
convertible 2 level mold or single face mold and can
also be designed to be convertible to 4 level for future
growth, should part volume demand increase.
3 Level molds are possible using StackTeck´s patented
Valveless Melt Transfer System (VMTS), allowing the
transfer of melt to each of the mold’s independent,
fully balanced, hot runner manifolds found on each mold
level, using a proprietary central distribution block.

StackTeck’s cascade approach allows for
pre-engineered convertible molds with 1, 2 or 3
opening faces to be converted to a greater number of
opening faces, should future part volume increase.
